Mountain Biking Morro Bay’s Cerro Cabrillo

Morro Bay’s Cerro Cabrillo is one of the most popular of the Nine Sisters because it lies in the middle of two of the region’s most impressive but off-limit volcanic plugs, Morro Rock and Hollister Peak — both of which are closed to public hiking or mountain biking.

Instead, Morro Bay trailblazers are left with 665-foot Black hill and 911-foot Cerro Cabrillo, the latter of which offers the area’s best views of the estuary, coastline and remaining chain of Sisters.

It also has countless, technical trails, which makes it a favorite of local mountain bikers.

Here’s some footage from a recent ride by our friend Beau C., shot with an AR.Drone 2.0. Parrot and a GoPro 3 on an extremely windy day as you can see by the shaky aerial footage. Either that or I have to lay off the coffee.
